Since 2004, Omar has operated Just Brakes Plus, an auto mechanic shop on Whitby’s main road, Brock Street. It’s a shop where he combines his love of vehicles, a desire to fix any problem, and a willingness to meet anything head on.
Omar is a people person and it’s important to him that others know that. So much so, he’s even put “Customers come first” on his business card. It’s not that money doesn’t matter, but that he puts other priorities first.
“I take them to the car, show them what’s wrong with it, and explain what needs to be fixed. I also don’t fix what doesn’t need to be fixed, but instead tell them how long they can go before it needs attention. This way, they can save up for the repair instead of being hit that day with a huge bill. Most repairs come from people’s budgets because they can’t or don’t want to put out the money, and it turns into cause-and-effect because the problems were left too long.”
Omar extends this approach to his own team, too. “The guys I employ, they get paid no matter what, so they don’t have to worry about finding work and gouging the customer.” It’s a practice he’s employed the whole time Just Brakes Plus has been around, and he chalks it up to previous experience. “I have a business background,” he explains, "and I know that without the customers, I wouldn’t be here.”

this shop saved me. day before the long weekend my brakes started grinding. they were able to squeeze me in that day so i would not be without a car for long weekend! they guys are awesome, recommended repair shop.
This is the only place I will EVER take my car to be serviced. Omar and his staff are so incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. My car was having so many issues until I took it here, and since they’ve fixed it it’s never driven better. It’s better than new. My whole family takes their cars here and are always so impressed with the service they receive. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. I thought my Cruze could never be fixed but I am so so happy I took it here!
Omar and his guys always fit us in and are quick to get the job done. Im always confident they are doing the job that needs to be done and their pricing is quite reasonable. Wont go anywhere else!

I've been going to them for a few years and have always had outstanding service. They always uphold their warranties.
This is by far worst mechanics I have ever gone to. Had my breaks done them and a few months later the bolt holding my break pads to the rotor fell off and started girding into my rotor. When i brought it to a different shop they said that whoever did my breaks last stripped the bold so bad that it fell out. I also had my alternator replaced and they left a bolt out causing the belts to slip and squeel. They are in a convenient location but they have no idea what they are doing.
I was laughed at when I asked questions. The head mechanic was very rude. He gave me his personal phone number to call him if I "need ANYTHING". I said no thank you and he tried to put it in my pocket. Prices were expensive also. I would rather go to canadian tire. I would never recommend this place!
Kem is very rude and condescending to women. Kept calling me my dear and looking at me in a way that made me very uncomfortable.
